Barnyard Millet Kadhi
Ingredients
- Coconut milk: 1 cup
- Water
- Barnyard Millet Flour: 2 tbsp
- Haldi: 1 tsp
- Dried red chilis: 1-2
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera): 1 tsp
- 1-2 tsp lemon juice
- Whole dried red chilis: 1-2
- Oil: 1 tbsp
Instructions
Preparation Method:
- Mix coconut milk with barnyard millet flour and whisk it well.
- Pour the liquid into a saucepan. Add salt, dried red chilis, and turmeric powder.
- Place the pan over medium heat and stir until the liquid becomes hot. Lower the heat and let the kadhi simmer. Stir it occasionally and cook till it becomes creamy.
- For the tempering, heat oil in a small pan over low heat. Add cumin seeds, dried red chilies. Mix well and pour the tempering over the kadhi.
- Add lemon juice to the kadhi once it cools down a little bit.
Notes
You can also use plant-based yogurt for this recipe. In that case, skip adding the lemon juice to the kadhi.
