Sesame Chutney

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • A pinch of hing (asafetida)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the sesame seeds on a low flame till they swell up but don't change color. Cool completely.
  2. In a grinder, add the sesame seeds, chili powder, salt, and hing. Grind but make sure you do it only till it's a coarse mixture. If you grind it too much it will become sticky.
  3. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

This quick sesame chutney can be served with idli, dosa, chilla, put on roti rolls and it even tastes awesome with rice!
